Introduce yourself

Welcome to the forum!

We have works councils in the Netherlands, in fact they are mandatory for companies of a given size (I think 50? Maybe 25). I’m curious to know more about what works councils are able to achieve or where their limits lie with respect to unions. I’m guessing that one of several key distinctions is that works councils don’t usually talk to each other.

Hi All,

I’m a French immigrant in the Netherlands. They / Them. After finishing a degree in philosophy, I kind of took a big career change and now work in a Dutch non-profit that does grants for open-source projects. I’d love to find ways to organize open-source developers and volunteers to advocate for better conditions and steady funding.

I’m very shy and only dipping my toes again after being burned out on French activist environments; so I’ll try to participate but probably mostly read for a while.

Cheers!
